Cicadas Recorded on the Co-op
The Bend of Islands, which includes the Co-op, is an area of outstanding biodiversity, and so it is rich in invertebrate fauna, including Cicadas.
One of our members, Frank Pierce, has been recording the Cicadas of the Co-op and throughout the Bend of Islands for several years. They are easily heard, but are much harder to track-down and photograph.
Frank has created a Cicada Page on the Bend of Islands Conservation Association (BICA) website, documenting general information about Cicadas with a link to the current Cicada list for the area, This list has specific reference to the species that have been recorded on the Co-op. This can be accessed here.
